Sonam Kapoor was born on 9 June 1985 at Chembur, Mumbai. Sonam was nicknamed Giraffe by her father because she is 5 feet 9 and a half inches tall. Kapoor started her life with a structured education and firm grounding in the process of film making. After completing her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir and receiving International Baccalaureate from the United World College of South East Asia. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu, Sindhi, Marathi and Punjabi.
