On Aamir Khan's birthday today, we take a look at some unknown facts about the actor.

Not many are aware of the fact that even before the release of 'Holi', Aamir Khan had acted in a FTII diploma film titled 'Subah Subah'. The film still lies in the archives of FTII and was made by a student named Indrajit Singh Bansal. It was during the editing of this film that he was spotted by director Ketan Mehta and promptly signed for his film 'Holi'.

The only film that Aamir Khan had signed in his career without reading the script was Dev Anand's 'Awwal Number'. Aamir had signed the film because of his immense respect for the veteran actor. Unfortunately the film was a disaster at the box office.

Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have appeared twice in a movie together but never shared screen space. Incidentally both the films 'Pehla Nasha' and 'Luck by Chance' had the stars in special appearances.

Aamir Khan shared an excellent on- screen chemistry with Juhi Chawla and the success of films like 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', 'Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke' is a testimony to the fact. It was only because of a prank that Aamir played on Juhi while shooting for 'Ishq' that she stopped working with him.

There is a very interesting anecdote that pertains to hiss super hit film 'Dil'. Initially this was the story for the film 'Khunda' which was to be directed by Chandra Barot of 'Don' fame. The film had stars like Shashi Kapoor and Danny Denzongpa on board. It was only after the film was shelved, many years later Indra Kumar made it as 'Dil'.

Aamir Khan is the only actor from the Indian film industry who declined the offer of his wax statue at the famed Madame Tussaud's in London.

Aamir Khan can solve the Rubik's cube in less than eight minutes. This only slightly more than the established world record.
