Some respite as Portuguese prices fall

Portuguese consumer prices have dropped as the country suffers from a fall in internal demand due to pressures on the economy.

Inflation now stands at around 2.7 per cent allowing some respite for cash strapped households.

A lack of credit and tax hikes have hit consumer demand as the country goes through its worst recession in three decades.
