Somber Feast

Devotees of the Black Nazarene head toward the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene or Quiapo Church before the annual feast on Jan. 9, 2021. This year's religious event will be held without the traditional procession or Traslacion because of the pandemic. Quiapo Church has limited to 400 the number of people it can accommodate in each of the masses for the day and encouraged others to log on to its website for the livestream or go to churches where replicas of the miraculous image can be found to avoid crowding.
