Snowmobile Jump Causes An Emergency
4 Views • Apr 01, 2023
Description
: "While filming for the Intersection Film Festival in Whistler, British Columbia in March of 2023, we built a large jump intended for doing backflips. When I came off the lip of the jump, I lost my grip with one hand. I was stuck in a vulnerable position in the air that didn't allow for me to separate from the sled. Unfortunately, the 550lb snowmobile landed directly on my legs which dislocated my hip and broke my pelvis. We called for a heli-extraction but their wait time was far too long so I made the decision to ride out under my own power on the snowmobile. It was an hour-long ride through mountain terrain. The pain was excruciating and I could feel my pelvis breaking apart as I went. I was going into shock and was losing consciousness at times but my survival instincts kicked in and I made it to an ambulance that was waiting for me in the parking lot. I later had emergency surgery and am now recovering."
