Description
A snowstorm hit the eastern Chinese provinces of Anhui and Jiangsu over January 4 and 5, with the country issuing a blizzard alert as snow disrupted transport and power supply.
At least three airports in the region were closed due to the heavy snowfall, and high-speed trains from Shanghai and Beijing were delayed or canceled. Henan, Shaaanxi and Hubei provinces were also affected by the storm, according to the South China Morning Post</a>.
The National Meteorological Center lifted the blizzard alert on January 5, but warned that moderate snowfall would continue to blanket affected provinces over the weekend</a>.
