Description
Scientists have discovered that rotating masses of water called eddies occasionally pair up and migrate great distances across the ocean. These vortices are shaped like the bottom half of a smoke ring, with an eddy swirling at the water’s surface at each end. These smoke rings travel much faster than single eddies.
