Smith Westerns unimpressed by breakthrough

"We just wanted our music to be overwhelming, huge, anthemic and in-your-face. It was kind of a reaction to a lot of bands that are super minimalistis. We wanted to make an album that was hedonistic in its instrumentation and arrangements."
