Smaller scale joint drill kicks off, replacing Max Thunder exercise

Seoul and Washington initiated a scaled-back joint air force drill in place of Max Thunder.
The two-week exercise which kicked off on Monday... involve South Korea's F-15K and KF-16 jets,... America's F-16s... as well as Australia's E-7A Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft.
The allies conducted the annual Max Thunder exercise since 2009,... but are thought to be holding the smaller scale drill, so as to not disrupt the denuclearization and peace process on the Peninsula.
