Hardly anything is known about this territory band, active in the Tennessee area in the late 20s and early 30s. They recorded a 20 sides in Camden (New Jersey) and Memphis (Tennessee). Personnel included: Tony Almerico, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Leader; Bedford Brown, Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone; Sonny Clapp, Trombone; Jack Cohen, Banjo, Guitar, Vocals; Irwin Kunz, Cornet, Vocals; Slim Lamar, Cornet, Vocals; Adrian J. Larroque, Piano; Bob Nolan, Piano; Benny Pottle, Tuba, Bass; Jim Rush Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Vocals; The Ryan Sisters, Vocals; Bobby Turley, Piano; Dick Wilson, Violin, Vocals. It should be noted Slim Lamar also left some records he made with Mart Britt. As for this excellent recording, it was made in 1929. The vocal is by the creator of this song, a composer named MacLeod whose first name is unknown.
