Rocker Warren Zevon is often credited with coining the mantra, “You can sleep when you’re dead.”
The truth is that not getting enough sleep is literally killing us. Neuroscientist Matthew Walker, who directs the sleep and neuroimaging lab at UC Berkeley, puts this idea forward in his new book, ‘Why We Sleep." The book was published in October.
Walker has dolled out sleep advice to the NBA, NFL and Pixar, among others.
