Empty promises and plain lies
Are the hallmarks of modern men
Politicians, bankers and businessmen

The success in life is all that counts
The access to power and big amounts
of money. Your king is cold hard cash
It rules your desires and drives your flesh

For money you kill with no remorse
While climbing to power, something much worse
Will be done to your very own soul
As the cost of barter, as the price of the toll

Not that you care, drained of emotion
Ready to do anything for a promotion.
The actors in a theater, shadows on a screen
Puppets in the hands of an evil machine
