Skype interview with Mark Barry

We saw the two Korean leaders wrap up their official summit talks in Pyeongyang on Wednesday,... and announce the main agreements that were reached.
To get some analysis, we connect to Mark P. Barry,... an independent Asian affairs analyst who has followed U.S. - North Korea relations for the past 28 years. Thank you for joining us, Dr. Barry.

So... the statement made by the two leaders is under heavy scrutiny,... especially after many experts cited a lack of specific details and concrete measures after the first inter-Korean summit this year,... and after the subsequent meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un.
What kind of agreement were you hoping to see,... and are you satisfied with the outcome?

Denuclearization and reducing military tensions were some of the core agendas for the summit. What do you think of the results, on these fronts?

Also, we're curious to hear what you made of the summit as a whole,... compared to the previous inter-Korean summits held in Pyeongyang in 2000 and 2007. Was it just a facade, as some critics claim,... or do you think it was a genuine step in the right direction?

It was President Moon's aim to mediate and accelerate dialogue between Washington and Pyeongyang. Do you think this summit will help advance denuclearization talks? Will we see a second U.S.-North Korea summit by the end of this year?
