Skype confirms developing 3D video calls

Description
Skype has confirmed that it is developing 3D video calls. The news was revealed by a senior executive of the company in an interview with the BBC to celebrate the company's 10th anniversary.
It was reported that there had been speculation about the possibility after the company posted an advert in April saying it wanted to find a way to create "body-doubles" for workers unable to travel to meetings. The company claims that they have the technology that supports 3D-screens and 3D-capture. However, the company warned that it could be many years before the technology is launched as the technology requires adding multiple precisely calibrated cameras to the users' devices which is difficult to achieve especially on mobile devices.
Skype allows people to make free audio and video calls to other Skype users around the world on computer or smartphones. This new feature reportedly could provide a boost to the company's performance amid stiff competition in the mobile communication industry.
