A woman noticed her neighbours had put up a giant skeleton in their garden and saw the opportunity to do something funny.
Kendell Aden, 30, from Aubrey, Texas, USA, in retaliation, put up her own giant skeleton and hung a sign from it encouraging them to outdo her Halloween spirit.
She began documenting this on social media, dubbing it the skeleton wars.
She and the neighbours have now gone back and forth several times, adding everything from lighting to backup skeletons.
Kendell said: "So the people behind us put up a 12ft skeleton, so of course we had to put up ours and add a little sign saying 'Is that all you've got.'
"This has turned into a full-on war.
"We had to retaliate, so we added lights and netting. I got bitten by mosquitoes doing this, so that is dedication.
"They put out some little skeletons around the yard.
"We put another guy out there, so now our skeletons have a friend too."
