: "PAWS Hearing Dogs are custom-trained to assist people who are deaf or hard of hearing by physically alerting them or their partner to common sounds such as an emergency siren. A Hearing Dog nudges or paws its partner alerting them to a sound and then leads them to its source. The video demonstrates how a trained PAWS Hearing Dog would alert a handler to a siren while driving in a vehicle. The PAWS Dog heard the siren, successfully alerted the handler, and the handler was then able to safely signal and pull the car into a safe location to stop."
