Simple, logical chess study – composed by Peter Krug

From his early life:
Difficult childhood: Krug's life was marked by hardship from the very beginning.
He was placed in a foster home after his father, whom he never met, allegedly advised an abortion.
Weekend visits to his biological mother were characterized by speechlessness and accusations, which led to difficulties at school.
Chess as a refuge: Chess became an outlet for him to cope with the burdens of his childhood.
Transfer to a children's village: At the age of six, he was transferred to a Pro Juventute children's village in Guggenthal near Salzburg, where, according to his own account, he suffered severe physical abuse.
Withdrawal and silence: In response to his experiences, he withdrew and fell silent.
Chess career and composition:
Chess as a youth: In his youth, he often played blitz chess at the Mozart Café in Salzburg to earn some money. However, because he couldn't afford the membership fee, he couldn't join the Mozart Chess Club.
Late discovery of chess study composition: He didn't compose his first chess study until 2005, as an adult.
Extensive oeuvre: Since then, he has written over 650 endgame studies and remains very active and successful.
Work as a proofreader: He is also known for his meticulous work in correcting faulty or incomplete studies by other composers. In doing so, he reworks the positions so that they are not only correct but often also more profound.
Well-known composition: One of his best-known studies, "The Freight Depot," on which he worked for three years, was published in Glarean Magazine in 2009.

Professional career: He has worked as a trained projectionist in a cinema and as a night porter in Salzburg hotels, among other things.
Path to yoga: Due to stress and sleep disorders, he began practicing yoga and trained as a yoga teacher in Germany. He now works as a yoga teacher in Austria and Germany.
Residence: Peter Krug has lived in Hallein, Austria, since 2016.
