Simon Gowen - Favourite slippers.

There’s nothing more inviting
Than my brand new pair of slippers
Unless someone invents me
Some furry lining knickers.

They sit there by the front door
Like a faithful little puppy
To greet me when I come back home
I really think they’re lovely

I sit there with my feet up
My toes as warm as toast.
I close my eyes and picture I am
Really by the coast.

I lost my job at easter
A blessing in a way
Cos now I get to wear my cosy footwear
Every day.

A world I have created
My feet now smell like kippers
Cos I spend each hour, night and day
In my favourite pair of slippers!
