I don't have my homwok today
I'm sorry to annouce
I did my homework yesterday
But my dog had eaten it in a single pounce

I hope the teacher won't complain
And make herself not yell
Just to let me explain
How it dropped into the well

A new machine should be invented one day
One that knows the answers to all
Working faster than a swift blue jay
To make our homework problems small

I start to wondeer why I started
How could I forget? I thought with a sigh
I almost felt fainthearted
When I remembered why...
