the whispers, the long walks
the hand holding, the first kiss
the beginning of a cherished moment...
he gets closer, she pulls away
he's confused, she remembers
the hidden scars, the brokenness
the moment too quickly ended.
she's ashamed, he wishes to understand
she walks away, he wants her back
the moment he realized he was in love,
the moment she wishes she could explain...
he's determined, he goes after her
she's gone, his heart shatters
the moment he found the goodbye letter...
the moment she gave in to the lies...
that she doesn't deserve better.
