pulling me close you whisper in my ear
enchanting promises trail through the air
how this is truly a forever love we share.
tightly you wrap me in a warm embrace
stepping back, your hands at my waist
our eyes saying words we dare not speak
sealing love, passion's kiss our lips meet
my breath you have completely captured,
my fragile heart you have been entrusted.
holding my hand together we walk along
days carry on, promises began to change
masks unveiled showing your different face
questioning love, precious memories fade
wondering if it was all just a perfect dream
true colors now display it's merely a facade
hidden, living in silence trying to make sense
you violently shatter my already broken heart,
trapped by what you now call 'love', waiting
my lips, my soul hungrily thirst for the love
once spoke of, but now left cracked and dry
vapid memories escape, leaving me wishing
someday if only I could know real love so true.
