Laughter and tears
Hunt for happiness
You’re happy
You don’t know
You know

That it’s not what it seems

It hits you
One day
One moment
That it’s a lie
It’s a cage
A trap
Imposed
But accepted

You catch a bar that gleams

And then?
What do you do?
Stifle the cry
And the scream
Or suffer the pain?
Of squeezing
Bruises,
That the metal
Will inflict

Or will you get terrified by the screams?


It beckons
Its calling
Go to it
You know you can
Now
Tonight
Have the courage
