Shweta Agrawal - Change

From many years,
He was standing there,
Experiencing every aspect of nature.

But, this year everything is different.
Spring has come with many promises,
Blossoming the creepers surrounding him,
Spreading a sweet fragrance over the land.
Many birds from distant lands had come
and taken refuge on his branches.

But, he isn't happy
It is his last spring.
The land where he stands
Will soon be adorned by a Mall.

He had promised to enjoy last moments.
But, now he isn't able to enjoy.
He is afraid of others' fate.

Those thousands of birds
whom he has provided shelter
whose chirping sound play music in this solitude
fills the air with new energy.
Those creepers which encircle him
whose sweet scent fill this land.
Those passers by who took rest in his land.

Soon, everything will be changed,
He will not be there....
