SHRAVAN KUMAR - Anant Kumar, Nalini Chonker

Shravan Kumar is born to Dyanvati after a long penance. The parents are, however crused with blindness if they see him. They can not help seeing him and they turned blind. In due course Shravan is married to Vidyavarti. Sage Vasistha prescribes that if Shravan takes the parents to holy places they can retrieve their sight. Shravan tooks the parents to the holy places but at Hardwar when he goes to fetch a pail of water he is shot by King Dasharath on a mistaken belief. Shravans father cursed Dasharath for his mistake, but Shravan is known all over as a devotee of his parents.
