To show a progress bar while downloading content from internet is very simple in Android. For example, to download an image from internet you can write an AsyncTask and use its methods to show the progress bar. You get to see android progress bar example. In AsyncTask for downloading image, inside doInBackground() method, write the ual download code. Calculate the progress of download by calculating percentage of file size that has already downloaded. AsyncTask provides a method publishProgress() which internally calls the onProgressUpdate() method. Inside onProgressUpdate() handler method you can inter with the UI thread and show progress by updating progress dialogs value. \r
