HBO has released the trailer for the upcoming six-part miniseries "Show Me a Hero," which is written by the creator of "The Wire," David Simon, and helmed by the director of "Crash," Paul Haggis, and stars Oscar Isaac, Catherine Keener, Winona Ryder, and Alfred Molina.
Set in the mid-198os, New York, the fact-based miniseries dramatizes a heated political battle over a federal plan for public housing in the city of Yonkers, and is mostly told from the perspective of Yonkers' young energetic mayor, Nick Wasicsko (played by Isaac), who attempted to bring the community together amid mounting racial tension that nearly ripped the city apart.
Based on the 1999 non-fiction book of the same name by veteran New York Times journalist Lisa Belkin, the drama co-stars LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Jim Belushi, Bob Balaban, Jon Bernthal, Terry Kinney, and Clarke Peters.
