How to Jeep Crossing Shounter Nala (kel, Neelum Valley, AJK, Pakistan) ???
A 19 kilometers journey from Sharda upstream takes you to Kel. It is a small valley at a height of 2097 meters. This is another picturesque place in the Neelum Valley . The Shounter Nala joins river Neelum at this place and leads to Gilgit Agency over the Shounter Pass (4420 meters above sea level).

Kel ia also a base camp for mountainairing activities up to sarwali peak (6326 m) and sarwali glacier which are said to be the highest peak and biggest glacier of Azad Kashmir. A jeep road leads to shountar lake along shountar nala which is a small but beautiful lake and chitta khatta lake. A jeep road also leads to helmat, sardari and taobutt. A two hours trek also leads to Arangkel which is a must see place. One can forget everything in mesmorising beauty of arangkel.

Buses run daily on this route in good weather. Bank, college, hospital, bazaar and a rest house of AJK Tourism are available for accommodation.
