Deadspin reports that rookie Shohei Ohtani is still playing sensationally, regardless of standings.
Ohtani hasn’t pitched since June 6, when he was placed on the DL with a UCL injury.
However, Ohtani has been at bat, plating three home runs this month.
Last Friday, he had four hits and two dingers against the Indians.
In Tuesday’s game against the Tigers, he unleashed a towering homer in the first inning.
