Shiv Sena attacks Fadnavis commenting on ‘Vidarbha’

Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece Saamna attacked Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday over his remarks on separate Vidarbha state.

"He (Fadnavis) stressed that separate Vidarbha will be carved out at appropriate time. He could have easily avoided the issue. He should have spoken on Vidarbha's development or on Naxalites. What did he gain by ruining the dream of united Maharashtra?" asked an editorial in Saamna.

Earlier, despite PM Modi's promise, Fadnavis has said that separate statehood for Vidarbha region is still on the party's agenda. And this comment has provided enough ammunition to the Shiv Sena, and rival parties Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Nationalist Congress Party during the election campaign.
