Shirin Askari Debuts Her Spring Collection

Art, as any enthusiast will tell you, comes in innumerable forms. Canvas, clay, glass and even fabric are merely ingredients. The genius comes in the artistic interpretation. Growing up in a cultured, artistic family, Shirin Askari found inspiration while watching her mother and grandmother deftly master the sewing machine. Fashioning her first dress at seven, Askari was hooked and harnessed ingenuity through architecture, high fashion, history and textiles. Taking chances and learning new things are very important to me, says Askari. Askaris chance-taking landed her a spot on Project Runways Season Six where she won the hearts of the Dallas viewing audience and beyond.
