we have been to Mars
and back,
now we are questioning
what does it lack

how is it like
earth
and what is
it's worth

in terms of life
as we know it

alas not all
mysteries are unravelled
by relativity
and mountains of
statistics

if we stop orbiting
round ourselves
and interstellar
truly seek

a new means
befits the scene
of crossing the bar
into outer space
