Shellings continue in Syria
Description
Night shellings continued in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
Earlier, the Free syrian Army seized tanks and other weapons during an attack on a key government checkpoint further to the north.
Amateur video obtained by Reuters shows wrecked military vehicles alongside intact ones.
A rebel also showed off the weapons they took.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) SYRIAN REBEL SAYING:
"After a battle that lasted from 7pm till 5am, we captured the weapons of Assad's dogs, and we will strike him with it, God willing."
A number of policemen were taken prisoner according to rebels.
The prisoners said they had not fought back against the rebels, but spoke of no ill-treatment.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) PRISONER, NAME WITHHELD, SAYING:
"We didn't use a single bullet all night. They said whoever coordinated with us last night to defect or surrender, come out. So we came out, with our hands up. We were scared but then they said to us 'you are safe'."
The rebels said the detained policemen will be transferred and tried in a Sharia court.
