Shelley L Baxter - *** ***** An apology

I want to apologize to you,
for you placed your trust in me.
Then I lost my mind and betrayed you,
for reasons unforeseen and mean.

That is not the way I operate,
don’t know what came over me,
better to ask questions first,
then blow and make a scene.

For I am so embarrassed…
that I thought of you that way.
When in doubt or unsure,
It’s better to just wait it out and say,

“I do not understand,
I am actually so confused
Can you help the darkness lighten?
For I don’t want to play a fool! ”

So the next time that I’m angry,
and I don’t know what to do,
I will stop and think of this time…
when I didn’t think things through!
