Sheila Knowles - peppermint
2 Views • Jun 13, 2014
Description
and I never knew why
as I crossed the wooden beams
into your world
watching my knuckles
whiten
on the door knob
then letting go
as the walls brushed
past my fingers
I tried to swallow
a first impression
from the scent of you
that lingered
in the unmade bed
or the shadow of your angles
in the shape
of the clothes
tossed on your floor
But I think my thoughts
in algebraic abstracts
and I cannot find
a rational edge
to all your random flavours
so I’ll drink you
in a cocktail
and taste you as you are
