Sheep Can Recognize Human Faces

What do Barack Obama's face, Emma Watson's face, and sheep have in common? They're all part of the same study.

Cambridge researchers studied whether sheep could recognize human faces. They were first shown a blank screen and a picture of a celebrity. A treat would pop out if they approached the celebrity. That image was then shown alongside a random person.

The sheep were able to identify the celebrity’s face 80% of the time. They join monkeys, dogs, and horses as among the few other animals known to recognize human faces. The experiment is part of research on neurodegenerative diseases and other disorders of the brain. Who knew sheep were as obsessed with celebrities as we are?
