Shea comes from the wild woods of Wilton, NH, and has been performing since the age of 11, when after first learning how to juggle he began to show an interest in clowning and physical comedy. It soon became clear that this was what he was destined to do. He then began performing at every opportunity he had, and learned from many respected performers within the circus community.

He has developed his talent over the years, branching out into musical theater and other forms of drama, as well as clowning and physical comedy. He has also taken to writing, directing and producing circus shows.

In 2008 and 2009, Shea toured with the award-winning international youth circus, Circus Smirkus, and was a featured clown in both shows. Recently, Shea has partnered up with fellow clowns Josh Shack and Joy Powers to form the Piccolini Trio; a mix of traditional and contemporary clowning.
