Shashi Subramanya - Parting Ways

At the hour when everything reposes,
When sunset is just a few hours away,
I try to gather the days bygone,
In a few words and silence.

As one moves away from time and space,
The existence slowly turns to a speck.
Face goes blur and words turn faint
And finally sink into nothingness.

As the sun rises with a new day,
Old impressions make way for new!
The door of past closes
With whispers in the background.

And impressions turn brown with time
To unfold the days wrapped in it!
The existence stems from oblivion,
The fainted words resound as memories!

Memories that make a lifetime
Make an existence a wonderful presence,
A trace of the days bygone,
And connect those parted wide and far.
