Sharpe's quiet life with new partner Lucille is interrupted by news of Napoleon's return from exile. He returns to the army to take part in the dramatic Battle of Waterloo, on the staff of Wellington's ally, the Prince of Orange. Reunited with the Chosen Men, Sharpe organises the defence of British key positions on the farm of La Haie Sainte.
