Continuously the heart beats
a rhythm; a message to send,
“Don’t you dare give up just yet.
You’re still alive! It’s not the end”.

Faster-slower-faintly-steady-
Continuously the heart beats.
Through happiness and through struggles
the rum-pump pump-pumping repeats.

Constantly yet fluctuating,
quick-sharp-fluttering…and hopeful,
continuously the heart beats,
or it throbs with each pump…painful.

Still thump-thumping! Defiantly
performing such amazing feats.
Yes! You’re alive! Sunset to rise,
Continuously the heart beats.
