Hurting someone I love

is like cutting out my own heart

I hear your pain and know

i've torn your world apart..

I want to reach out

and staunch the flow,

but I am the wound

no longer friend, now i am foe.

I want to stop your pain

but i'm afraid to give false hope

so i hold back and feel cruel,

worried 'bout how you will cope.

I act far removed,

like i've turned away,

you just dont see me look back,

to make sure that you're okay.
