Have you ever breathed someone in as they breathed out?

Breathed out as they breathed in?

Have you ever started something you knew you couldn't finish

and felt that it might finish you?

Have you looked at someone and known that they were the wind

you were never meant to hold?

Have you lost yourself in brown eyes vulnerable at your most fragile

and known you were anchored

Have you ever wanted to live in that place, the crook of a neck

and felt time excelerated by your panic

Have you known that you could count the number of hellos and sunrises

goodbyes and sunsets, heartbeats and kisses

Have you been the one left behind while your love travels the world

while you stay and die a little inside

Have you ever breathed someone in as they breathed out?
