Description

Is my fate in my own hands
or are you still watching?
You say you will never leave and yet…
You let them do what they did,
you let it happen
and now I’m alone and I’m scared.
on this dark and lonely road of faith.
my belief has been bruised
hope bleeds from my broken spirit
tattered, battered and conviction-less
I stand here waiting, afraid to move
wrongs done to me wrongs done by me
does it really matter to you?
your silence is booming.
have I wandered too far for you to hear the sound of my screams?
I’m having trouble trusting what I don’t see
and I’ve grown weary from the wait.
its so much easier for me to have faith for another
than to believe for myself.
I’m following a shadow in the dark.
send me a sign, lend me a hand.
I put my trust in you but not in them.
give me a lantern and show me the path
so I can move off this mountain and out of the rain.
Asking for your help is the biggest act of faith
that I can muster right now.
Believing you might is too much for me to hope for.
And how sick I am of those people telling me
“He’s there, He’s listening, He loves you”
I don’t want to hear from those self-righteous fools,
I want to hear from YOU.
