Shahi Imam breaks ties with SP

A day after the Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid, Maulana Syed Ahmed Bukhari, severed his year-long ties with Samajwadi Party; his kin have also distanced himself from the party. The resignations, which were sent along with a letter addressed by Maulana Bukhari blamed SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for taking the Muslims for granted. He also said that the minorities were capable of deciding their course and may not support SP in 2014 polls.
