Short Description:
Shadrach (1998), directed by Susanna Styron, is a poignant drama based on a short story by William Styron. Set in 1935 during the Great Depression, the film follows Shadrach, a 99-year-old former slave who walks 600 miles from Alabama to Virginia to fulfill his dying wish: to be buried on the land where he was born into slavery.
