Description

At least three people are known to have died when a container ship ploughed into a control tower at the Italian port of Genoa.

At least six more have been injured.

On Wednesday search teams resumed their efforts to find at least six others still unaccounted for.

"Of the six missing there is a very very low chance that one is located in this part of the collapsed building and not in the portion of the tower that fell into the water."

The 50-metre-high control tower was destroyed in the impact.

The crash happened as staff were changing shift so more people than usual were in the tower.

It's feared some of the missing may have been trapped in the control tower lift.

Local news reports say prosecutors boarded the 238-metre long Jolly Nero involved in the crash and an investigation is now underway.
