SENECA formed in mid 2005 and on the back of recording a 5 track demo that received rave reviews by local press they won the Limerick heat of the Jack Daniels 'Hardest Working Band' Competition on their first ever live performance. Hotpress commented on SENECA'S live performance as mixing "Doves-y waves of sound with the perpetual motion of Arcade Fire". 2007 is already becoming an excellent year for SENECA with them having opened shows for 'THE REPUBLIC OF LOOSE' and 'DIRECTOR' as well as having one song ('So Beautiful') from their forthcoming album placed on the Ceol '07 album that was launched in March and which includes songs from Bell x1, The Corr's and many more popular Irish acts. SENECA'S debut album 'SWEETER THAN BOURBON' has just been completed and is set for release in August of 2007
