Self-reflection in Islam (Muhasabah) is a powerful act of the heart and mind that helps believers evaluate their actions, intentions, and relationship with Allah ﷻ. Islam encourages us to pause, look within, and correct our mistakes before facing accountability on the Day of Judgment.

Through self-reflection, a Muslim strengthens faith (iman), purifies the soul (tazkiyah), and grows spiritually. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The wise person is the one who calls himself to account and works for what is after death.” (Tirmidhi)
