Security Footage Shows Suspect in Florida Mosque Arson Attack

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office have released security camera footage of the suspect in the February 24 arson attack on a mosque in Thonotosassa, Florida.

Police say the video shows a suspect carrying a large container and a rope as he approaches the mosque. The individual then makes two unsuccessful attempts to ignite the large container using the rope and fire accelerant, as seen in the footage. On his third attempt, and out of the camera frame, the suspect manages to set fire to the container, which resulted in damage to the mosque. Laboratory results confirmed gasoline was present at the fire scene.
