The beautiful you sits by the fireplace
Stoking the fire gently with your two-edged sword,
captivated,
You linger on the flames that cackle against the wood,
lobbing away the silence
Mingling with your sighs, they do escape
the warmth envelops you but you shrug it off
The heat lulls you to an easy sleep, but you are haunted
by the rushing gale beating against the window
Pleading, on its knees
its icy fists curling and uncurling each moment that you breathe
In the dark fumes
you linger on the flames, bitter,
Biting back tears
blurring the orangey hues
That threaten to imprison
you in its fiery lair.
