I'm just a little caterpillar
Inching away each day
Trying to find my way

I'm green and hairy
A little scary
I look kinda' like a worm
Excuse me while I squirm

On the forest ground it's kinda' spooky
I live inside a hut made of dookie
The animals outside want to eat me
I want to run and hide from this world of misery, but...

One day I will bloom
Break free from my cocoon
And fly away
Flap my butterfly wings
Let the wind carry me
Into my destiny

But right now I'm chewing on a leaf
And staring into the sun
I'm wondering why I'm the one who's still alive

'Cause yesterday my best friend Ray
He got carried away by this big blue jay
That flew down like lightning from the sky
